A Frontier Airlines passenger pulled down her pants and squatted in the aisle when she wasn’t allowed to use the bathroom during landing, affidavit says
A Frontier passenger squatted “as if to urinate in the aisle,” an affidavit says.
It adds the 60-year-old threatened to kill fellow passengers as she tried to rush off the plane.
She faces up to 21 years in prison if found guilty of three charges, including indecent exposure.
A Frontier Airlines passenger pulled down her underwear in the plane’s aisle and threatened to kill fellow travelers, an affidavit filed Tuesday says.
Dulce Huertas, 60, faces charges of simple assault, interference with a flight crew, and indecent exposure, a Department of Justice press release says.
The affidavit, which an FBI special agent signed, says Huertas had two alcoholic drinks while flying from Orlando to Philadelphia last November.
It added that when the plane was about to land, Huertas stood up and said, “I have to pee,” before yelling and cursing at a flight attendant who told her to sit down.
The affidavit says Huertas stayed seated until the plane landed but began cursing at other passengers as it taxied to the gate, prompting a flight attendant to call security.
After the seatbelt sign switched off, Huertas pushed her way to the front of the plane, but flight attendants stopped her from using the bathroom because they were still opening the main cabin door, the court filing said.
The affidavit says that, at this point, Huertas announced, “Sorry, everybody,” and pulled down her pants and underwear and squatted “as if to urinate in the aisle.”
She didn’t actually urinate and pulled her pants back up before cursing at passengers again, the court document adds.
Video shared by the local Philadelphia outlet ABC6 appears to show the moment Huertas is said to have pulled down her pants.
The court document then says Huertas tried to deplane and “used her belly to bump” a flight attendant blocking her way. They were concerned she might open the cabin door and activate an emergency slide.
“Huertas continued to yell, curse, and threaten to kill multiple passengers,” the affidavit added.
The Justice Department’s press release says that, if found guilty, she faces a maximum sentence of 21 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $355,000 fine.
